New Branch Opens in Durham

Durham North Building

Durham, NC December 19th, 2018 – Today, Latino Community Credit Union (LCCU) opens its second branch in the Durham area. Located at 4251 N. Roxboro St., the site is the 13th in a network of branches located in North Carolina’s largest urban areas.

Since launching its first branch in Durham in 2000, LCCU has grown into one of the largest and most successful credit unions in North Carolina, offering a full range of financial products and services to over 81,000 members from 13 branches across the state. As a bilingual, full-service credit union, LCCU creates economic opportunity for all by providing access to ethical financial products and education that empower communities. Currently, LCCU has over $329 million in assets and has experienced a 117% growth rate over the last five years.

With this new branch, Latino Community Credit Union looks to expand access to its products and services across Durham and ensure that more local residents have the opportunity to bank and invest locally and ethically. Additionally, the new branch will help alleviate some demand from the flagship Downtown Durham branch and allow residents from cities further north to access essential financial products and services.

There has been strong demand for a second LCCU branch in North Durham. As Abel Santiago, manager of the new branch, explains, “While many of our members access their accounts through the Cash Point ATM network and our online platform, we also know that our members enjoy the personal attention and the high quality service they receive at our branches. We are excited to open this new branch and continue to do our work to expand economic opportunity for all.”
