Dear LCCU members,
All over the world, across countries and cultures, the new year provides an opportunity to look back with gratitude and ahead with big hopes. As I think back to my beginnings with LCCU in 2001 as a volunteer and then joining the staff in 2003, I have cherished the opportunity to witness the growth of our members and credit union during these past 20 years. It is an incredible honor to continue this journey now as CEO of LCCU, working alongside our dedicated staff and with you, our hard-working members, as we continue making history.
At Latino Community Credit Union there is much to be grateful for and excited about!
Together, we have taken our credit union to new heights. In 2023:
• You helped us grow to 135,000 members, from 137 different countries – Our diversity is our strength!
• You put your money where your heart is, helping us surpass $1 billion in assets – By keeping and growing your savings at LCCU, you are funding life-changing loans for other members and empowering our communities!
• You inspired more than 8,600 new loans for over $250 million dollars – More families now have a home to call their own and create a strong foundation for future generations.
• Nearly 2,000 of you participated in our financial education workshops – Members set themselves up to succeed in building wealth by developing financial knowledge and skills.
• You supported our members’ academic journeys – Funded by our members, our Scholarship Program awarded $143,000 to 42 students!
2024 will be our best year yet! We will have helped more than 230,000 members with loans and will continue to welcome thousands of new members, ensuring access to the fair and affordable financial products we all need and deserve. Stay tuned for the introduction of innovative ways to enhance our service, promising even greater economic opportunities for you, our valued members. Get ready for a year of unprecedented achievements and positive transformations!
