Raleigh, NC, February 27th, 2021 – Latino Community Credit Union hosted its second successful vaccination event against COVID-19, located at their Raleigh branch. This event was aimed towards the Latino community in the Triangle-area of North Carolina. With the collaboration of Duke Health, Duke Raleigh, LATIN–19, La Semilla, El Centro Hispano, Greenlight, Curamericas, and Southeastern Healthcare, more than 500 people were able to receive the vaccine for COVID-19.
The focus for this vaccination campaign served mainly towards adults over 65 years of age, health sector workers, and teachers or staff responsible for the care of children, who in the face of the current pandemic, are deemed the most vulnerable groups. The community was welcomed with Latin-American music, boxes of frozen meat, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The ambiance was made to uplift a community that has been affected by the pandemic, and ensured they felt safe and took with them a more hopeful view of the future.
