At Latino Community Credit Union, we believe every business has a story, one of hard work, community, and dreams that evolve over time. The story of Leomary and Carol, founders of Pabellón Arepas & Bowls, is one of them.
What began as an idea full of hope turned into action. Although their dream was always to open a restaurant, they chose to take the first step with what they had available, a food truck. With dedication, long hours, and a clear vision, they slowly built something much bigger.
Today, that effort is reflected in their own location in Durham, where they have created more than a business, they’ve created an experience. You can find them at 2312 New Raleigh Hwy, Durham, NC 27703.
Pabellón Arepas & Bowls is more than just food. It’s flavor that connects, culture that is shared, and an environment that makes everyone feel at home. Each arepa, cachapa, and Venezuelan bowl is prepared with passion, color, and authenticity, bringing a piece of Venezuela to the community.
As a women-owned and Latino-owned business, Leomary and Carol represent the strength and resilience of so many entrepreneurs in our cooperative. Carol, with more than 20 years of experience as a chef and expertise across multiple cuisines, including Japanese and Italian, brings a depth of culinary knowledge that elevates every dish and makes their concept truly unique.
Stories like theirs reflect what we see every day, members who are not only building businesses, but also creating opportunities, strengthening communities, and leaving a lasting impact.
At Latino Community Credit Union, we are proud to support our members at every stage of their journey. From that first step to opening their own location, we remain by their side, helping turn ideas into reality.
